Ocimnet - Tonight the world gets to experience the longest lunar eclipse in 11 years. However, your ability to actually watch it first-hand depends on where you are in the world and how late you are willing to stay up.

Luckily, due to modern technology and a few helpful people in areas of the world where the eclipse will be clearest, you’ll be able to watch it from the comfort of your own home via the Internet.

The Sky Watchers Association of North Bengal (SWAN) in India will be doing a live webcast of the event which starts at 20:12:36 UT, which is 15:12:36 EST. So if you are in the US it makes for a relatively easy watch in the mid-afternoon if you are near a PC with an Internet connection.

The event is sure to be memorable due to the fact it will last for about 1 hour and 40 minutes giving everyone ample time to appreciate what is happening.
