Ocimnet - The rest of the world gets annoyed at Slade for just being Slade, but his girlfriend/business partner Gretchen Rossi also has her limits. Gretchen’s tolerance for Slade is negatively correlated with his waistline.
In an earlier episode this season, Gretchen got annoyed when Slade ordered pasta at dinner, calling him “Tubba Wubba,” and complaining that the plate of pasta ruined the work he put in riding his bike.
In the clip below for tonight’s episode, Gretchen complains about her doggies getting chubby after spending time with her ex-husband Chris Rossi (they share 50-50 custody.) Slade walks in, and she points out that he’s chubby too.
An exasperated Gretchen exclaims “Chris feeds the dogs, and Slade feeds himself. Why am I not fat? Has anybody looked at me lately?”
When Slade gets on the scale, he weighs in at 211lb (about 10-20 pounds more than the 190-200 lbs. Gretchen says he should weight. Gretchen explains further “It’s frustrating to me when Slade doesn’t do anything about being overweight. I know he gets really depressed when he’s not working out, because he’s an athlete. He’s always been an athlete.” It’s at that point that we get a golden nugget: A clip from the very first season of RHOC, which features Slade working out and talking about how hot he is. (For the record, Slade dabbled in modeling, and has biked competitively.)
