Ocimnet - Severe t-storm threat very real for today and tonight. T-storms will start to develop this afternoon with the greatest threat of severe t-storms including tornadoes later this evening.
The best timing would put the t-storms near Rome by 8pm, Atlanta near midnight, and Athens and points east around 2am. Heavy rain could also accompany the storms with rain totals of 1-2”.
Even if tornadoes do not develop these t-storms will be capable of producing winds in excess of 60-70mph which would be sufficient to cause damage to small buildings and down trees and power lines.

By tomorrow the weather will improve with sunny skies and cooler temperatures. Highs will be in the lo 70’s.
