Sebagai seorang serdadu bayaran, belas kasihan adalah kata yang tak pernah ada dalam kamus Royce. Semakin tinggi kemampuan untuk bertahan hidup maka semakin tinggi pula kemungkinan untuk selamat. Tapi dalam kasus kali ini, Royce terpaksa harus mengubah pola pikirnya atau ia tak akan pernah selamat dari tempat asing yang kini jadi medan pertempurannya ini.
Royce adalah salah satu dari delapan orang yang diculik oleh Predator dan ditempatkan di sebuah planet dengan tujuan menjadi permainan buat bangsa alien yang dikenal sebagai Predator ini. Tujuh dari delapan orang ini adalah prajurit tangguh, mulai dari bandar narkoba, anggota Yakuza sampai pembunuh bayaran sementara salah satu dari mereka adalah seorang dokter yang jadi buronan FBI karena diduga telah membunuh beberapa orang.
Royce harus bisa menyatukan ketujuh orang ini untuk bisa selamat dari buruan para Predator. Di dalam perjalanan, Royce bertemu Noland (Laurence Fishburne) yang ternyata adalah salah satu orang yang diculik Predator bertahun-tahun yang lalu. Dari Noland Royce tahu kalau sebenarnya mereka hanyalah permainan buat para Predator ini dan tak banyak orang yang berhasil selamat dari buruan Predator ini.
Waktu PREDATOR muncul di tahun 1987 lalu, film ini seketika jadi pembicaraan di mana-mana. Sejak itu berbagai adaptasi dibuat termasuk dalam bentuk komik dan spin-off dari versi aslinya yang dibintangi oleh Arnold Schwarzenegger. Hampir semua adaptasi ini bisa dibilang 'gagal' meski untuk kalangan tertentu, Predator tetaplah legenda yang tak akan mati. Kini, 23 tahun dari bagian pertamanya, muncul PREDATORS yang disutradarai oleh Nimród Antal.
Buat yang sempat jadi penikmat bagian pertama, film laga yang satu ini bisa dijadikan sarana untuk sekedar bernostalgia sementara buat yang tak tahu menahu soal bagian pertama juga tak akan terlalu jadi masalah karena seolah tak ada kaitan sama sekali antara film ini dengan bagian pertamanya. Kabarnya naskah film ini sendiri sebenarnya sudah berumur cukup tua. Ide film ini sebenarnya sudah muncul di benak Robert Rodriguez di tahun 1994 lalu atau kurang lebih empat tahun setelah dilepasnya PREDATOR 2.
Kini ide lama itu dibangkitkan lagi lewat naskah yang dikerjakan oleh Michael Finch dan Alex Litvak sementara Robert Rodriguez yang menyutradarai film pertama malah memilih menjabat sebagai produser saja. Hasilnya cukup memuaskan, terutama karena casting yang lumayan membantu. Meski tak semua pemeran bermain memuaskan, paling tidak Adrien Brody dan Alice Braga terlihat paling bersinar di antara pemeran lain.
Didukung dengan visualisasi yang realistis, pas sudah film ini dijadikan hiburan akhir pekan yang tak terlalu menuntut pemikiran terlalu berat. Jangan menuntut penokohan yang sempurna karena para karakter yang dimunculkan di sini seolah memang hanya karakter dua dimensi saja. Jangan juga menuntut alur cerita yang memukau karena bukan itu tujuan dibuatnya film ini.

Royce (Adrien Brody) is a hunter. As a mercenary, compassion is a word that never existed in the dictionary Royce. The higher ability to survive the higher the likelihood of survival. Now, 23 years from its first part, appeared Predators directed by Nimrod Antal.
Create a connoisseur who could become the first part, an action movie this one could be used as a means to simply reminisce while for who knew nothing about the first part also will not really matter because if there is no connection at all between this film with its first part. They say this movie script itself was quite old age. The idea of this movie actually has appeared in Robert Rodriguez's mind at the last 1994 years or less than four years after the release of Predator 2.
Now the old idea that was raised again over the manuscript which was done by Michael Finch and Alex Litvak and Robert Rodriguez who directed the first film instead choosing only served as producer. The results were quite satisfactory, especially because the casting is pretty helpful. Although not all the actors play to satisfy, at least Adrien Brody and Alice Braga is seen most shining among other roles.
Supported with realistic visualization, fitting was this movie made a weekend of entertainment that was not too demanding thinking too hard. Do not demand a perfect characterization for the characters who appear here as if it is only two-dimensional character. Do not be too demanding a riveting story line because that's not the purpose of this film made.
